RADAR’s patented technology provides a single platform to manage all regulatory and contractual incident response obligations, prove compliance, and mitigate risks for data owners and processors.

PORTLAND, Ore., — March 17, 2017 — RADAR, an award-winning incident response management and decision-support SaaS solution, announced today the issuance of its newest patent in support of its innovative technology for managing contractual notification obligations. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted RADAR, Inc. US Patent No. 9,483,650: Systems and Methods for Managing Data Incidents. This is the third patent issued to RADAR for innovation in incident response management. In addition, RADAR introduced extended functionality to support contractual notification obligations with downstream as well as upstream business relationships with clients, service providers, and business associates.

Organizations owning or processing regulated data can have hundreds or thousands of clients, business associates, service providers, and other external entities. These relationships mandate protection of regulated data and require notification to the data owners if there is an unauthorized disclosure of the data due to malicious or inadvertent incidents. Since requirements differ for each business agreement, meeting these contractual obligations can be a complex and highly inefficient process, and noncompliance can result in serious consequences, including termination of relationships if obligations are not satisfied.

With the RADAR Contractual Obligations Workflow, organizations efficiently manage contractual details and notification obligations for both upstream and downstream business relationships, helping organizations stay compliant with all of their contractual agreements. Integration with the RADAR Breach Guidance Engine™ ensures that all incidents are consistently assessed for risk under current data breach laws and that contractual and regulatory notification obligations are managed effectively.

“RADAR’s reputation as a leader in the incident response management space is built on our dedication to ongoing innovation, as evidenced by our growing patent portfolio,” said Mahmood Sher-Jan, CEO of RADAR, Inc. “Every day we work with privacy officers and legal professionals in finance, insurance, healthcare, and other highly regulated industries tasked with the stressful and complex responsibility of ensuring their organizations are compliant with a complex maze of contractual and regulatory obligations. RADAR integrates the management of downstream and upstream contractual notification obligations as well as regulatory incident response obligations to help alleviate this complexity, and bring consistency and efficiency to an otherwise burdensome process.”
