RADAR’s unique technology platform provides a single platform to efficiently manage regulatory and contractual incident response obligations.

PORTLAND, Ore., — October 13, 2017 — RADAR, Inc., the award-winning privacy and security incident response management software provider, announced today the issuance of its latest patent expanding the scope of innovation of its technology for managing contractual notification obligations. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted RADAR, Inc. US Patent No. 9,781,147: Systems and Methods for Managing Data Incidents. This is the fourth patent issued to RADAR, Inc. for innovation in incident response management. Two additional patents are pending: for automated breach notification risk assessment and guidance under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); and for the management of multiple regulated data elements, risk factors, and jurisdictions.

Organizations in finance, insurance, healthcare and other highly regulated industries must comply with an increasingly complex maze of data breach notification laws. In addition, these organizations typically have business agreements with hundreds if not thousands of corporate clients, business associates, services providers, or other external entities – relationships that mandate the protection of regulated data and require notification to the data owners if there is an unauthorized disclosure. Since requirements differ for each business agreement, complying with these contractual obligations can be a complex and inefficient process, and noncompliance can have serious consequences, including termination of lucrative business relationships.

RADAR’s patented Contractual Obligations Workflow eases the burden of managing these contractual obligations, allowing organizations to efficiently manage contractual details and notification obligations for both upstream and downstream business relationships in a single platform. Integration with the RADAR Breach Guidance Engine™ ensures that all incidents undergo a multi-factor risk assessment under current data breach regulations and that contractual and regulatory notification obligations are managed effectively.

“RADAR’s growing patent portfolio reflects our commitment to bring innovation to incident response management,” said Mahmood Sher-Jan, CEO of RADAR, Inc. “Managing the complexity of contractual and regulatory obligations is a significant pain point for privacy officers and legal professionals. RADAR brings consistency and efficiency to this process, helps prove compliance, and mitigates risks for data owners and processors.”
