Privacy professionals across the globe all have the same date circled in their day planners in May of 2018. The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) enforcement deadline is fast approaching, and the risk of noncompliance are very real: failure to meet the 72 hour notification timeline could result in fines up to €20M or up to 4% of the total worldwide annual turnover of the preceding financial year, whichever is higher. Many questions about complying with the GDPR yet remain, including how to best approach the regulation, interpret the law, then plan, implement and manage a strong compliance program.

In response to this very real pain experienced by privacy teams, a group of privacy management industry leaders have joined together to provide a suite of solutions for compliance with GDPR.

This month RADAR joined together with industry partners to form the Alliance of Global Privacy Solution Providers (the “Alliance”), group of companies with a depth of experience in executing against the various elements of GDPR compliance. As outlined in the official press release, the Alliance will aim to help privacy professionals understand:

  • Where and when software or additional tools are an option for compliance activities and how to build the associated business cases for senior management.
  • Where and when existing processes are achieving GDPR compliance
  • How to take a longer-term approach to privacy management, beyond immediate GDPR requirements

Now more than ever, technology is able to bring innovation, consistency and efficiency to privacy programs, and help privacy and legal professionals with better decision-support capabilities. Operationalizing incident response through purpose-built technology eliminates the subjectivity and inconsistency that is inherent in manual approaches.

RADAR helps privacy professionals prepare to meet breach notification requirements of the GDPR

As a member of the Alliance focused on breach notification requirements, RADAR is the only SaaS platform offering automated breach notification risk assessment and decision-support guidance for GDPR. We are currently extending our existing robust patented multi-factor and multi-jurisdictional decision-support platform to bring efficiency and consistency to incident response for the GDPR.
